Hi everyone. Yes, I think I’ve broken my finger. The third one on the right hand (ring finger). It happened on Friday when I was delivering the Wye Local Magazines to the Community Drop Off Points. I was delivering a box of magazines to Hay Doctors. Got the box out of the boot, closed the boot, and then tripped over the curb stone. Went a right purler, but luckily managed to avoid a lamp post by centimetres! I landed on my knees, but must have wrenched my finger as I dropped the box of magazines. Linda, who I have met in The Harp Inn at Glasbury, came to my aid. She was waiting outside in the car for her husband Keith to come out of the surgery. That was nice of her I thought. Then a Police Car drew up and the kind Policeman carried the box of magazines into the surgery for me. It’s not often I am pleased to see a Police Car! I felt fine and carried on with the deliveries, and it wasn’t until about 30 minutes later that I realised how painful and swollen my finger was getting. I took my ring off as quickly as possible, because I knew that after a while I wouldn’t be able to get it off at all! I suppose I should have got it x-rayed at the hospital, but I didn’t feel like traipsing into Hereford or Brecon. I can type, I can drive and I can hold a wine-glass. It’s just housework I can’t do, so no problem there then!
