Group name Following a discussion about identity, the name “Hay Tourism Group” (HTG for short) was suggested as the official name for the group which met with approval from those present.
A note on terms! It was decided by the group that thrashing out the different terms below is good for any business or organisation, large or small. They were agreed upon as an aid to the organisational development of HTG to enable us to plan and to act, provide focus and direction for what we want to achieve and how. Mission - why we exist, who we are and what we do. The Mission Statement is a concise and precise description of what the Hay Tourism Group does and its purpose. Values – these are aspirational; things which inform everything that we do. The Values Statements describe the convictions held by HTG and its members, what the group wants to represent and how we want to behave as we seek to accomplish the mission. Objectives – things we want to achieve, goals toward which effort and actions are directed to help us achieve our mission. Action Plan – things we want to accomplish over the next 6-12 months, working towards our objectives
MISSION STATEMENT Working together to increase the value of tourism to Hay on Wye and the surrounding area, and to conserve and celebrate our distinctive character for the benefit of those who live, work and visit here.
