At the beginning of the 2011 season, it really was a case of ‘all hands to the pump’ where all members worked tirelessly to try and salvage the vandalised cricket pavilion. Some members, shouldering the costs themselves. It was a severe case of ‘make do and mend’ in every aspect of the work carried out. It is with great appreciation for our sponsors; Likes Landrover, The Hollybush Inn, Hay Veterinary Practice, Honey Café, D Crane, P Weavers and the Old Railway Garden Centre. With their support we were able to purchase playing shirts and some essential kit. Sadly, the clubs’ President and constant supporter for many years, Brian Davies passed away in April. This left the club a sorrowful atmosphere with which to embark upon the approaching matches. There is now a new bench at the ground, in honour of Brian and the ever faithful Hubert Mytton. Luckily, the season was only hampered with rain on a few occasions and it was tight at the top. With three teams, all vying for the top spot. However, on the last game of the season, against second place Strollers at Ledbury, The Talgarth team secured a win by six wickets! This was the icing on the cake for Captain Lee Pugh and his squad, and a cause for huge celebrations. Talgarth C.C are now champions of the Marches League Division 3 and therefore secured a place in Division 2 for 2012. We would like to invite any interested Sponsors to contact Vanessa Pugh 07967888789…………… We welcome players for the upcoming season, old and new! There is also a hope that we can form a junior team. Please contact Paul Norris, Chairman. ………07507508172…………………. for more information.
