Earlier this year the Local Beacon and Wye Local Magazines featured a photography competition with the theme of Local Landscapes.

A superb level of images were entered, both myself and Clare found it very difficult to pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd. However, this had to be done and here are the results:

1st Place to Mark Zytynski - A view of Lord Hereford's Knob (Twmpa) with Pen-y-Fan in the distance taken from Hay Bluff

2nd Place to David Griffiths - Offa’s Dyke path looking at the sunset with the Twmpa on the left

3rd Place to Helen Shellard - Brecon Canal 

Thank you to all those who entered, the standard really was fantastic. Please continue to capture images of our local landscapes as this competition will run again in 2011. Keep your eye out in the magazines for details.

Each of the above winners, plus 9 other entries, will appear in the Local Beacon and Wye Local 2011 Calendar. Available in July this year from various outlets in our area. More information on this will follow.
