h, “The Queen of Harps” and former Royal Harpist to The Prince of Wales, has audiences spellbound wherever she plays.

Appointed in 2000, Catrin was charged with reviving a traditional post after a hiatus of more than 100 years, playing regularly at the royal palaces and to royalty around the world.

Ten years ago, Catrin won the Lily Laskine International Harp Competition, one of the premier harp competitions in the world, before going on to win the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York. Nominated five years ago for a Classical Brit Catrin’s career has seen her play with many of the world’s top orchestras and record for most of the major record labels.

Her versatility is breathtaking, her repertoire vast, ranging from solo classical recitals and concertos to an eclectic cross-over mix as she takes the harp to places it’s not been before.

Well-known for her work within the community – she and her husband Hywel last year opened Acapela a converted chapel on the outskirts of Cardiff the couple has transformed into a recording studio and concert venue - and with the younger generation, Catrin is committed to promoting the harp and classical music to a new and wider audience.

“'Finch can do almost anything on the harp, and then some...” wrote the Washington Post.

“Catrin Finch plays the harp. When she does, the world stops turning. She is simply staggering.” Simon Honywill, on Adiemus Live! in Japan
