Glasbury Arts present Planetarium Night with the Stars - When Art Meets Science PDF Print E-mail

Saturday, 11 December at 7.30pm - Glasbury Village Hall

In February 2010, Gwernyfed High School Astronomy Club transformed the village hall into a planetarium and provided an unforgettable night for everyone who managed to buy a ticket. Due to popular demand they are now repeating this memorable experience, offering another unmissable opportunity to see the beauty and the science of the universe in a fascinating new way.

You’ll see and learn about stars, galaxies and nebulae not easily visible to the naked eye as Gwernyfed High School Astronomy Club present material located through the Faulkes Telescopes in Hawaii and Australia.

Accompanying the planetarium experience there will be:

  • an exhibition of photographs taken through the telescopes and artistic interpretations of some of the images, plus photographs by Mike Featherstone which will give a unique view of the sky over Powys.
  • A buffet meal

All included in the ticket price.

Half the net proceeds from this event will be donated to the Gwernyfed High School Timbuktu Fund.
