Don't Forget How Cold It Was Last Winter PDF Print E-mail

Well summer wasn't too bad this year but don't get complacent.

The forecast is for much cold and even sub-zero weather for us to 'enjoy' over the coming months.Remember last winter? Yes it was extremely cold, down to minus fifteen degrees in some local spots and no good reason why it won't be as cold again this year.

The 'Plumbers Harvest'

Thats what it's called. Burst pipes, frozen water supplies and drainage. Hopefully only an inconvenience but in all too many cases, the discomfort and expense can be horrendous.terry.theplumber  barely stopped to draw breath from November onwards with unfortunate people suffering flooding,  water damage and ruined carpets and most if not all could have been avoided with a simple check and the correct and sufficient insulation. Many have had extra insulation in the loft and think they're safe. Oh dear! The main problem with loft insulation is that it keeps the heat in the house and allows little if any into the attic, where most of your tanks and vulnerable pipework is.When we insulate a roofspace we always advise customers that they'll probably need extra insulation for the tanks and pipework as they can be more at risk than ever.

So this year don't wait until water comes gushing through the ceiling before you remeber to lag the pipes or install extra radiators, your plumber may be too busy by then, oh, and if you call him out in the early hours of the morning, expect a bill far outstripping the cost of insulation.         Now is the time for you to be on the phone arranging a pre siberian insulation check by a qualified and experienced plumber. Good luck.

And Merry Christmas From
