Crunch Art and Music Festival at Hay 18th - 20th Novemeber PDF Print E-mail

"Crunch is back, with the thought-provoking debate, infectiously danceable music and late-night parties that you’ve come to expect. But this year there’s a whole lot more. We’ve doubled in size. With three new venues, a new art pavilion to explore, multiple musical events and performances running simultaneously across the weekend, Crunch 2011 is an essential date to enliven the darkening days of mid-November.

Filmmaker Nicolas Roeg, artists Susan Hiller and Jake Chapman, novelist Mark Haddon, and Serpentine Director Hans Ulrich Obrist are just a few of the guests who’ll be answering the big questions behind this year’s theme, ‘Awake in the Universe’. We’ll be exploring the role played by art and creativity in making us alive. There'll also be music from the likes of stunning songstress Mara Carlyle and indie rockers British Sea Power, exhibitions from leading galleries and an array of comedy, cabaret and mayhem to ensure Crunch 2011 will be a weekend to overwhelm the senses."

The Fabulous Old Spot Theatre Company return to Glasbury PDF Print E-mail

A cocktail of mirth, music, mind-bending plot twists, skulduggery and – probably a happy ending are promised as The Fabulous Old Spot Theatre Company make a welcome return to Glasbury with their brand new production – Chancers or The Life and Troubles of Carrie Lyndon, a tale of Gloucester Gothick

The 18th century is exploding, sometimes very messily, with Cake, Coffee and Commerce. London smugly calls itself the centre of the artistic world and its rising star, woman playwright, Carrie Lyndon, accepts a commission to write a play for regional theatre, but is it her who arrives in Gloucester to fulfill the commission?

The powers of government are reaching far into the countryside and pretty soon it begins to bite back: riots, sit-ins and boycotts abound, and starvation and persecution soon follow. The country is in uproar, the militia is called in and the role of the theatre and of the women in it are called into question. Does anyone really care if the show goes on?

Gasp as the ship of artistic pretension hit the rocks of countryside commonsense, and marvel at the fabulous entertainment afforded to the entire family. Guaranteed to bring a giggle to one and all.

Why You Should Keep Your Car Looking Like New?

Want to save money on a car? We're not talking about buying one cheap – one of the best ways to save money as a motorist is to take care of the one already on your driveway.
